READY TO RECONNECT WITH YOURSELF AND EXPERIENCE CONNECTION IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS?

Call me Jackie, your Latina Psychotherapist

Remember a time when all these thoughts and emotions weren't the "norm"... but now those days feel like a distant memory. Don't you wish you had the tools to change that?

You've come to the right place.

I'm Jacqueline Machado, a Latina California Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I specialize in addressing complex emotions and helping adults navigate life's challenges by exploring how past experiences shape our mental health. I work with adults, just like you: ones that have it within them to be curious on how they can experience change but just need the tools and support to get there.

I help my clients find comfort, awareness and confidence by equipping them with the tools they need to better understand themselves and reclaim the identity and strength they are seeking.

Many of today's solutions for healing mental health symptoms are based on setting boundaries (which many times doesn't work because we can't control other people's behaviors!) or just finding solutions that feels like you're only placing a band-aid without really addressing the deeper root. This leads so many to feel frustrated and disappointed because it only works for a short period of time. I know that your circumstances are unique, so we will work together to gain insight into your history and your experiences.

First we will go through the necessary paperwork and discuss important legal aspects to establish a structured therapeutic relationship. Together, we will explore your presenting concerns with compassion, aiming to understand your past experiences and initial triggers. I will guide you in connecting with your body to manage emotions effectively. Through our work together, I will help you uncover why you feel the way you do and guide you from a place of defensiveness to a deeper connection and authenticity with yourself.

I am dedicated to helping people go from Protection Mode to Connection Mode.

At the end of the day, you want to know you're working with someone who gets what it means to be stuck in Protection Mode right?

My training in Interpersonal Neurobiology and Relational Neuroscience means I have the expertise you need and deserve to take the risk to do deep healing.

I get it, because I've lived it myself. For my child and early adult years, I was stuck in Protection Mode. I learned very quickly in order for change to happen, your brain needs to experience safety, connection and attunement. So I've worked VERY hard to be able to offer that because adults that did not receive that, deserve to heal and explore their inner world with an attuned and grounded therapist. This new lens will allow you to be able to lean in, process, make sense of what has happened in order to experience the shift you have been looking for and finally be able to make meaning of the deeper root to your struggles.

So when we work together, you won't just get a trained therapist. You'll get someone who truly understands what you're going through and how to help you!

My Approach

I use a combination of approaches to help you gain insight into yourself and develop strategies for positive change.

Psychodynamic therapy: explores how your past experiences unconsciously influence your thoughts and behaviors today.

Attachment theory: helps us understand your patterns of relating to others and yourself.

Mindfulness/Somatic: techniques enhance your awareness of your thoughts and emotions in the present moment, promoting emotional regulation and resilience.

Neuroscience/Interpersonal Neurobiology insights: provide a scientific understanding of how your brain processes and adapts to new information and experiences.

Nervous system-informed approaches and Polyvagal Theory: help us understand your body's reactions to stress and trauma, guiding us in how we can work together to regulate these responses.

I'm dedicated to helping people go from Protection Mode to Connection Mode
