READY TO RECONNECT WITH YOURSELF AND EXPERIENCE CONNECTION IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS?
Call me Jackie, your Latina Psychotherapist
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or caught in patterns you can’t seem to change, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. You might remember a time when life felt lighter, but now those days feel far away.
My work is about helping you return to that sense of balance and connection, with yourself and with others.
I’m Jacqueline Machado, a proud Latina and California Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I specialize in anxiety and emotional regulation, trauma recovery, relationship and communication growth, therapy for parents, and shame resilience and self-compassion. I work with adults who are ready to better understand themselves, regulate their emotions, and create meaningful change in their lives.
In our sessions, you’ll find a safe, nonjudgmental space to slow down, reflect, and get curious—not critical—about what’s going on inside. We’ll explore how your brain, body, and nervous system have been shaped by past experiences, and we’ll gently work on shifting patterns that no longer serve you. My approach draws from interpersonal neurobiology and neuroscience, always tailored to your unique history and needs.
Instead of quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions, we’ll focus on addressing the root causes of your distress—helping you move from Protection Mode to Connection Mode. This means not just learning coping skills, but truly rewiring emotional and relational patterns so you can feel more grounded, more in control, and more connected to the life you want to lead.
Whether you’re navigating parenting stress, processing trauma, struggling with anxiety, or working to improve your relationships, I’ll walk alongside you with warmth, curiosity, and respect as you reconnect with your resilience and inner strength.

At the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who truly understands what it means to be stuck in Protection Mode, right?
My training in Interpersonal Neurobiology and Relational Neuroscience gives me the expertise to guide you through deep healing—but I also get it on a personal level.
I’ve lived it myself. During my childhood and early adult years, I was stuck in Protection Mode, and I learned quickly that for real change to happen, the brain needs safety, connection, and attunement. I’ve worked hard to cultivate these qualities so that I can provide a space where adults who didn’t receive that support in their early years can finally explore their inner world with a grounded, attuned, and compassionate therapist.
Through this lens, our work together will help you lean in, process your experiences, and make sense of what has happened. This allows for meaningful shifts—so you can finally uncover the roots of your struggles, heal, and reclaim a sense of clarity and resilience.
When we work together, you don’t just get a trained therapist—you get someone who truly understands what you’re going through and knows how to help you create lasting change.
My Approach
I use a combination of approaches to help you gain insight into yourself and develop strategies for positive change.
Psychodynamic therapy: explores how your past experiences unconsciously influence your thoughts and behaviors today.
Attachment theory: helps us understand your patterns of relating to others and yourself.
Mindfulness: techniques enhance your awareness of your thoughts and emotions in the present moment, promoting emotional regulation and resilience.
Neuroscience/Interpersonal Neurobiology insights: provide a scientific understanding of how your brain processes and adapts to new information and experiences.
Nervous system-informed approaches and Polyvagal Theory: help us understand your body's reactions to stress and trauma, guiding us in how we can work together to regulate these responses.
I'm dedicated to helping people go from Protection Mode to Connection Mode
